Old Times

Old Times

I was able to get  a  paperback reprint of my Munich  1981 senior  yearbook  and it arrived yesterday.

Talk about a blast from the past.

I spotted myself on the edge of 2 pictures ,and reacquainted myself with people I'd probably never see again ( although I had seen/talked to some of them since), plus my 3 other ubiquitous snaps .

I was voted "Most Individual " of the senior class.

I was 16 / 17 that year , and it's 26 years later now.

I don't feel old , but  my friends , that is a freakin long time ago.

I showed my daughter all my crushes ( I was only there for my senior year ) and she said,

" All the guys look the same .Same haircut. How did you keep them apart ?"

I think I like yesteryear's "the same" better than today.

I saw a young guy across the street talking to our neighbor the other day and he had :
tats all over, a baseball cap on backwards( how original), baggy camo pants with his black bvds sticking out ( Why ? Why do I have to see them--they are called "underwear") , and a lit ciggie hanging out of his mouth.

He looked like every young male clothing trend over the past decade rolled into one.

Just unappealing to me .

Man even horizontal striped
polo shirts and shaggy wings looked better than that !

Yup ,I am definitely heading into geezerette territory now.
These young people today...

*shakes fists in the air*

How pretty...it's fun to go through yearbooks to see what people wrote about you....were their alot of German kids at your high school, or were they army kids? (I was going to say army brats, hehe)?

Are you still writing poetry?.....

Thanks youse peeps for the kind comments!
Yes, Judy I am still writing poetry , in fact if you check on my favorite blog link on this blog you'll see on my Windows Spaces that I won a contest recently.
Munich High was a mix of military brats, and some people had German Mom's ( like I do ).
My original book with commentary is lost .
So this is a reproduction of the basic book.

What a beauty! BTW, love the new photo with hat!

I've entered Old Fogey Land myself. I note the signposts along the way every day. Heck. Gotta go check the poetry.
