and I actually like this.
A refreshing lack of flip-flops in cold weather up here .
In the Houston burbs it could be freezing ( and it did a few times a year),yet still there'd be those who felt closed shoes were somehow an extravagance.
These folks weren't just students either. You'd see professors,random people in the stores , professional looking people ....it was a strange phenomenon to me .

The default shoes here tend to be clogs or tennis shoes.

My next door neighbor, who's a high dollar attorney, was wandering around in the cold rain yesterday wearing shorts and flip flops. I bundle up when the weather gets under 60 degrees. I think he's insane.
