So Outta Here...
in 2 days.
Wow , this is gonna be different.
I have been thinking about Tom a lot lately.
He's never totally far from my mind on most days .
The stress of moving has him parked right there in the wee hours of the morning as I try to get all these things mentally rounded up for our grand adventure.
Soph's visit at the opthamologist was uneventful today other than the sure knowledge that over the next few years ( or sooner ) she'll be blind.
I guess her Basset genetics were strong with the shape of her eyes and the way they drain has predisposed her to glaucoma. She gets a painful eye and is now on human meds to control it somewhat and give her some relief from the pressure.
She has the sweetest warm brown eyes with Cleopatra kohl rimming , and it's been hard to realize that at the tender age of five things just got real serious for this playful ,constantly hungry and loving mutt.
We'll do what we can to make her life easier , because she deserves it.
She's been a wonderful comfort through some of the worst days of our lives.

Sounds like you've been having a bad time. I'm so sorry. It's funny how big life changes seem to stir up memories. I hope you find your thoughts of Tom comforting. I'm sorry about your good puppy. She does deserve the very best life you can give her. Take care.

I'll bet Tom is right there with you helping you through this new adventure.
Hang on and give Soph a big hug for me.

My dog Pierre was almost blind, and he was 17 when he got hit by a car.....Max has cateracs (don't mind spelling) his eyes are all cloudy... It funny how we all want to protect our dogs. Your right they sure do help fill the void in our lives.....how old is Sophie
