Watching %$#@&*^ Paint Dry
08.21.06 (4:04 pm) [edit]
So the paint doesn't match for touch up upstairs --2 shades too light .
Seems some incompetent fool at Sherwin Williams gave us the wrong formulation in June .
So we get the manager this am( after going there yesterday afternoon only to be told their paint matching computer was down), and he says
"Ah ha, this is the problem.
Let me mix this , take this home & test it and then maybe we won't have to analyze each wall chip you brought , make the formula then dry it here to see if it matches your chip." ( to which he would have several hours more work).
So we were watching paint dry for the past 2 hours.
I mean we ain't got nothing better to do.
1)The front door handleset needs replaced ( and it's so much more complicated than we realized.)
2) The porch needs painted ( this we find out last weekend), I mean yeah it looked like some more hound dogs and a car up on blocks would finish the ambiance , but we did powerwash it yanno.
And we bought it like that .
3) It 's fricking hot, and intermittently monsooning .
4) Rust stains on the pool side walkway need attending, I have to make a special paste and scrub .
5) It's freaking hot, yada, yada, yada
6)Kitchen cupboards facings need wiped down , kitchen floor needs steamed , plus all other tile flooring downstairs.
7) Silestone backsplash & kitchen sink need recaulking in the correct color ( which I had special ordered and it came in last week ). Sink will be out of commission for 2 frickin days after the plumbers leave .
* Whirling dervish emoticon right here*
All this and we're watching paint dry.
Anyway the paint matches (hurrah, the great spark plug isn't totally cheesed off at us and thwarting us at every turn with Murphy's Law as a devious cohort), but the manager who makes the paint is still AT LUNCH.
He's gotta mix 4 other colors,
but he'd have to be at work first !
It's coming up on school time and rush hour traffic.
AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA
My visor is cutting into my head, I think it's too tight...
PS We are listing friday....AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA AAA

Everything is always way more complicated than you thought it would be. Hang in there...the end is in sight.

Okay. I was going to send you an email, but the tblog thing just didn't work. I just wanted to say I finally visited your other sites. Your husband was a very handsome man. I'm so sorry he's gone.
Love the mosaic stuff. Ever tried to sell any? It's really cool. Hope you're having a good day.
