....the stench of failure .
Another poetry rejection keeps that "L" branded on my forehead pretty solidly .
So far I have 3 rejections ,out of 4 entries in 8 months .
Maybe there's still hope...

First of all, thanks so much for your comments. No bears made an appearance and the river was so calming!
As for the poetry thing, I used to be a writer myself. My husband still is one, though he does non-fiction stuff now. Anyway, I wanted you to know that 3 rejections out of 4 don't really mean anything. Get used to rejection. You'll get a lot of it. It doesn't mean you're a bad writer. It could be that your style isn't the editor's preference. There are lots of reasons why your work might not be used that have nothing to do with your abilities.
Sometimes they just want to see how long you'll keep sending them stuff. lol! No, it's funny, but it's true. Try not to let rejection get you down or cause you to doubt yourself. What types of places are you sending your work?
