Freak Out Poetry Jam , Social Statements & Wine Revelations

I read 3 poems last night at Barnes & Noble.

It was a great feeling , as  both  laughter paire d with  applause greeted my spoken words  and  fed  my soul .

My nerves jangled  as I got ready  to be heard:

Posing by the podium.

Yup, I am a poser...my truth is now known to the masses..

Me practicing my stunned mullet look.

Earlier in the day I had picked up my rejected "found art aka recycled items"work  from the art center.

Here is this crazy piece  that assaulted my noggin until I made it the other night:

The things that rattle around in your bean...

I ended the night with 3 sips of this fabulous  Chilean Wine to celebrate  my minor victory over a wee bit of stage fright.

Château Ste. Michele 2001

Columbia Valley Merlot

Rich raspberry notes, that glide down your throat with a warm swirl , leaving you mostly fulfilled, longing for just one  more sip of toasty pleasure.

Congratulations on the reading! :) Chateau St. Michelle makes a really great Gewurtztraminer... a little snappier (not a wine term, I realize) than a riesling but not as dry as a chardonnay...

omigosh, I LOVE your styro head art!

Wish I could stop at 3 sips of wine.

You are a better woman than I, my friend.

Yes, Congratulations! I love poetry and getting up in front of people to read it, would make me hit the wine. lol......riesling is what i usually drink, but the best wine i ever drank was Cranberry wine from a winery.....Lori is the one that knows her wine....she's not a wineo though.....lol....i'm not very big on wine, althought my dad use to make a mean batch......

"The things that rattle around in your bean"

Oh, yes. Sometimes the comittee that lives in my head is so low I have to calm them down with a strong dose of Lynchburg Lemonade.

I LOVE that styro head. I wish I had taken pics of the various mannequins on porches when we went down to the NC coast a few weeks ago. Amazing and made from every imaginable material there is...and maybe a few that are not.

One day, mayhap, I have the same courage as you to stand before a crowd and share the words flowing from my pen.

Congrats, m'girl. We are proud of you.

Ratzzz....that should have been that the committee was loud..not low. Why would I need to comatose a low noised committee, eh?

Thanks, ladies !

All this stuff was in my house !
I didn't buy any of it for the head.
I can't drink much, as Outlaw already knows .
I pass out after a full glass of wine, especially red.
I am ok with white and rose- but red, champagne ,cognac , sherry , portwine and liquors...knock me for a loop.
I can't tolerate a mixed drink at all !
I learned early in the game of life that I like to experience my world sober and with most of my scattered faculties present and accounted for ....so a few sips is the limit.
