Chocolate Taste Testing & Wig Heads
08.03.05 (2:27 pm) [edit]
I would like to take this post to recommend "Chukar Cherries "
to those of you out there who love both dark chocolate and cherries.
The 4 pieces I allowed myself to nosh on were in a class by themselves.
Today I am thinking of submitting a recycled or found item art piece to a local art center.
It's basically a wig head with some ,eh, alterations.
That's all I will reveal at this time .
Same voices that talked to me into ABBA CD 's , want me to do installation art it seems.
A new avenue of expression appears before me without much warning.
I have till August 20th to perpetrate my vision on
the greater Clear Lake community.

The poem you wrote in rememberance of Tom is haunting in both a simple and complex way.
My daughter said recently as we were talking about her new boyfriend that she was having challenges knowing that she was going to be with someone who never knew her Dad.
My Handyman is a good man, but he will never be her "Dad".
It brought me to tears to think of future generations carrying Jim's genes without knowing the essence of the man.
It now falls to us....you, me and all our widowed brothers and sisters to carry on the memory of those who are gone.
I hope I'm up to the task.

"Now I am part way into that unknown future .
Only the music can get me back to a safe place again."
I surely relate to this, April. It was a jolt to read what you said, and realize I am part way into my unknown future too...time, past, present, future has all become so strange, doesn't have the same definitions it used to have before Rick died. Yes, you are right, we ARE walking through our futures, because we mark time beginning from when they died...and with the impermanence and unpredictability factor...it increases those feelings.
Your blog is so beautiful to look at, I love all the color!

Outlaw, I am sure we can keep their essences alive through sharing special memories and pictures .
Not constantly dwelling on his end is the hardest for me still .
To realize he could have done even more in this world, and didn't get the chance.
