After spending a week in Kentucky with Eddie recently , it seems as though a life alone is no longer in the offing.
Seems I gots myself a man again, and a mighty good one to boot.
* a little En Vogue tune comes to mind right here*
I use to say life turns on a dime, especially right after my husband was murdered.
While that still holds true , this time the dime is lucky .
I actually met Eddie in 1980-81 , when we rode the same school bus to high school in Germany .I graduated with his older sister.
We are military brats.
He's 3 years younger ( oh, I am soo doing a Demi/Ashton right?!), and I had a wee crush on him back in the day for a few weeks around Valentines Day.
We both went to a school Valentines Day dance , did a little group disco &nb sp; and then when it was time to slow dance -- he didn't ask me.
I was crushed and went off into a corner and cried.
He didn't know I fancied him and he was after all a freshman to my senior status.
My friends asked me what was wrong and I spilled the beans.
They made derisive comments about my choice of guy due to the age difference.
My parents remember me coming home from this dance upset...
We reconnected in late November of this year through an alumni message board and then a few emails .
In December, we took it to the phone lines.
Out of nowhere , my little crush 26 years ago turned into full blown love.
We just fit together like hand- in -glove.
On Valentines Day this year , he remedied the sitch.
We had several dances together in person .
This time lady luck was much kinder to me.
