in 2 days.
Wow , this is gonna be different.
I have been thinking about Tom a lot lately.
He's never totally far from my mind on most days .
The stress of moving has him parked right there in the wee hours of the morning as I try to get all these things mentally rounded up for our grand adventure.
Soph's visit at the opthamologist was uneventful today other than the sure knowledge that over the next few years ( or sooner ) she'll be blind.
I guess her Basset genetics were strong with the shape of her eyes and the way they drain has predisposed her to glaucoma. She gets a painful eye and is now on human meds to control it somewhat and give her some relief from the pressure.
She has the sweetest warm brown eyes with Cleopatra kohl rimming , and it's been hard to realize that at the tender age of five things just got real serious for this playful ,constantly hungry and loving mutt.
We'll do what we can to make her life easier , because she deserves it.
She's been a wonderful comfort through some of the worst days of our lives.
The Visit
Yup, went to the dreaded MD for some drugs.
Took a few snaps of the joint and equipment.What can I say ? They kept leaving me alone...
Steff picked me up again in the pouring rain.I'm feeling better but am so busy .
The movers come Monday & Tuesday ....

I think I have a UTI ( second time in my life).
Stress went straight to the bladder this time...
My toilet's about to be ripped up, and the closest one is downstairs.
Gotta get an appt at the docs.
Days to :
4 days until the movers come.
9 days till closing.
10 days until blast off !

Shot Through A Cannon
Things are moving along with the sale.
Life's at breakneck speed right now lining up movers,getting inspections , my parents finding a rental house, prepacking, stopping services ...
This week I get to have my toilet (oh joy) ripped up for a plumber to look for a possible leak underneath , or a wrecked subfloor.The inspector found that the floor in front of my can seemed to have a lot of give.
Then a plumber came by for something else small and said that he recently had a house where they had to replace that part of the floor underneath .
*Sigh*
It's a tiny bathroom, it couldn't be all that much $$$$.
Yup, closing is still Oct 20th.
I swear I am bleeding money for this house .

Home of the "Big Ass Burger" as in a humongous
minced bovine patty , or does it refer to the size of one's rear after indulging in one too many ? 
I never checked out this place after being here for 4 years , just saved the advert as it caught my funny bone.
Their marketing strategy/catch phrase /claim to fame just didn't rouse my palate , so I guess it will be an eternal mystery to this gal ...
Closing
is Oct 20th ! 
I made the reservations for my daughter ,myself and the dog's road trip which starts on Oct 21st.
I plugged in pet friendly hotels and crime stats to each area that I ultimately selected .
We are going to cover between 200-300 miles a day.
Our nightly pit stops will include :
LA
Al.
GA
NC
,WV
, PA
, CT.
then lastly arriving at South Deerfield ,MA.
We'll look for a place in Shelburne Falls from there .
Hopefully it won't take more than 1 month...
What an adventure ! And freakin scary ...
