*Sigh*

One showing so far.

They left feedback :

"Big pool, didn't like the floorplan so much ,too expensive and it was busy."

According to the price per square foot in this neighborhood, our price is below that .

 So no sales yet.

Dragonfly , Where Art Thou?

There are so many of them right now, they practically fly into my head at any given moment ,but the minute I have my camera out they are evasive.

The other morning I found no dragonflies yet again , just 'skeeters and a whole lotta sky.

How Could I Have Almost Forgotten?

Am I so in the here and now that I would not have remembered that on the 24th we would have been married for 24 years?

Not only that but I got it mixed up with my stepdaughter's birthday which is on the 22nd ....

Life has been so hectic lately with putting this house on the market and planning our grand escape that I realized yesterday that my wedding anniversary was practically staring me in the face . Come to think of it ,this happened to me last year too, I didn't really remember until a day or so before.

Perhaps it's a survival mechanism for me.

The hardest date so far has been Sept.24 , 2002 it was a strange feeling to realize how hollow that day felt , as he had just died in July .

My Dad , Steff the dog and myself all left for Texas the day after , and one part of me needed the geographic shift , and the other part of me already mourned the memories.

We didn't even make it to 20 years .

I will make comments to Stefanie about the day , I don't even talk to my parents about Tom much anymore.

Tom got cold feet that day crisp fall day in the Alps while we were eating breakfast in downtown Garmisch a few hours before the ceremony at town hall .

He was all "Are we doing the right thing?" I was 8 months pregnant , looking across the breakfast table at him and was like " Sorry bub, too late now !"

I never had a qualm or worry , it felt right to me.

Lost in Translation

Gentile Signora April ,

Buona lettura!
I signed up for this Italian cooking newsletter a few years ago  and specifically remember asking them to send me the English version.
Every month  this Italian one shows up.
I can catch a few words  here and there, but most of the time  I have no blinkin idea.
I have this "online translater"  do  some of the work for me.
I speak German and have attempted  to  see what their translation was  and they do miss the mark quite a bit on some phrases .
It's always an adventure to see what the Alta Vista Babelfish Translater is gonna say about this monthly letter !
So here it goes:
Kind Mrs. April,
in order to taste in city the sapore of the vacations as soon as 10 prescriptions prepared here with coming from products from the culinaria tradition of the Mediterranean countries ended. The kitchen school is dedicated to a product appreciated in the tables of tutt' Italy for its versatility, the preserved cod, than, if sottosale, it takes the stockfish name, while if made dessicated  to the air it is called stoccafisso. And in order to exalt the sapore of the vegetables  here 6 unusual condiments.
Good reading!
.........OK.......

Sell This House ...puh-lease

Entrance Arrangement

I love this entrance  arrangement.

Cost: $ 9.99.

This was for the cream tablecloth from Target only.We owned everything else already.A tv console, a vase that Tom gave me  over 20 years ago,  an arrangement that use to be in another room  and  an unused  scarf of Stefanie's.

I don't think I'll ever be featured in any interior decorating mags anytime soon, but  this is a good save for a part of the house that use to hold an unused closet  and asst. junk...

Shovelin' This Hovel Into Shape

And other filthy chores...

Yesterday  we worked on the kitchen grout , and taking  boxes from  the garage to my parent's storage.

Visor gal takes a break

It's cooled down the past few days, but there's just enough humidity  to make one sweat upon the slightest exertion --especially outdoors.

Dead Butt Tired

We are officially listed for sale.

Between trying to keep the house tidy for showings ( which is pretty hard  for us sloppy types),getting more minor repairs  finished and worrying about prospective hurricanes that could come to our neck of the woods, we are interspersing   10-20 minutes segments of exercise 2 to 3 times a day.

Took a short walk this morning, then did 20 minutes of yoga  and capped off the day with  20 minutes of the arcade game  Dance Dance Revolution on beginner mode .I didn't have to cook today   and so at 8:30  this evening I just plumb passed out in front of the boob tube.

 It's a good tired though.
